A. THE SCRIPTURES:
We believe all 66 books of the Bible in its original language and context to be inerrant and inspired by God (2 Pet 1:20). Written at the hands of men, as divinely inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit, it is the final authority in all matters relating to faith and morality (2 Tim 3:16f).
Our sole source for a deeper and lasting relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Jn 5:39).
As a "Living Word", the Bible is timeless in its message to the world (Mal 3:6, Ps 100:5).
B. THE GODHEAD:
We believe in one God, eternally revealed as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Jn 1:1f, Jn 14:9f, Jn 16:7, Eph 4:4f).
- GOD the Father: Creator and sustainer of all things visible and invisible.
a. God is eternal: (Deut 33:27, 1 Tim 1:17, Ps 90:2).
b. God is omniscienct (all knowing): (Acts 15:18, Mt 10:29, Ps 147:4f).
c. God is omnipresent: As Jonah learned, God is everywhere (Ps 139:7-10).
d. God is immutable (unchanging): (Jms 1:17, Mal 3:6).
e. God is omnipotent (all powerful): (Gen 1:1f, Heb 4:13, Jer 10:10-12).
f. God is holy: (Hab 1:13, Ps 113:5f, Isa 6:3).
g. God is love: (1 Jn 4:8b, Eph 2:4f, Jn 3:16)
- GOD the SON: Jesus, the Christ (Messiah), "Yeshua"
a. The express image of God Himself: (Heb 1:3, Jn 14:9)
b. His eternal pre-existence: (Micah 5:2, 1 Jn 1:1-3, Isa 9:6)
c. He was born of a virgin: (Isa 7:14, Mt 1:23, Lk 1:35)
d. His humanity: (Heb 2:17f, Phil 2:7, Jn 8:40)
e. Spotless Lamb of God: (Heb 4:15, 1 Pet 3:18)
f. Bodily resurrection: (Lk 24:36-39, 1 Cor 15:12-19)
g. He will come again: (Acts 1:11, 2 Thes 1:8, 1 Thes 4:13-17)
3. GOD the Holy Spirit: Paraclete, comforter; the third Person of the Godhead
a. Our personal guide: (Acts 16:6, Lk 4:1, Rm 8:14, Gal 5:25, Acts 8:29)
b. An instructor: (Lk 12:11f, 1 Cor 2:13, Jn 16:13, 2 Tim 3:16, Rev 2:11)
c. Emboldens us: (Acts 4:29-32, Acts 7:55, Acts 1:8)
d. We are sealed by Him: (Eph 4:30)kept by His power(1 Thes 5:23, 2 Cor 1:22)
e. Assured of salvation by Him: (Jn 14:26, Eph 1:13f, Rm 8:15f, 1 Jn 3:24)
e. Agent of conviction: (Rm 9:1, Jn 16:5-13, Mt 16:17, Heb 3:7)
f. Giver of gifts: (Heb 2:4, Rm 5:5, 1 Cor 12:7-11, Joel 2:28, Eph 4:11, Lk 11:13)
g. He empowers our prayers: (Rm 8:26f, Eph 6:18, Acts 13:2)
C. Ordinances of the Local Church: An ordinance is defined as a prescribed practice;
an authoratative decree or directive given and demonstrated by Jesus.
1. The Love Feast: A communal meal shared amoung Christians(picnics, etc)
2. Holy Communion: The regular consumption of the bread and the cup as a
memorial of Christ finished work at Calvary.
(Mt 26:26-28, Lk 22:19f, 1 Cor 11:23-29)
3. Water Baptism: Bodily immersion in water, "unto the glory of, God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name".
(Mt 3:15, Mt 28:19, Rm 6:4, Col 3:17, Acts 19:5)
4. Washing the Saints Feet: (Jn 13:4-17, Gal 5:13-15) An act of humble service to
our brethern.
5. Infant Dedication: (Mk 10:14-16, Mt 19:13f) Merely a prayer of blessing over the
child and a charge to the parents, and the church, to be examples of the life of
Christ.
